U-Matter
WHat is it?
Our U-Matter Program is a community of youth and community leaders/mentors that informs, improves and encourages the wellbeing of our young community members.
U-Matter focuses on the different areas of self-care and its effects on mental health.

We launched the program in June 2022 with a U-Matter Youth Conference. In collaboration with many local organizations, we created a space that allowed teens to express their struggles with mental health to a panelist of speakers from diverse backgrounds. We also had stations with activities that promote wellbeing in the different dimensions of self-care (physical, social, emotional, psychological, profesional, and spiritual).

GOALS
1. Tune-in – Learn the needs of youth by actively listening to their questions and needs
2. Educate – Bring knowledge and awareness on how self-care positively affects well-being
3. Guide – Provide the necessary tools & resources to improve the well-being of youth
4. Actualize – Create opportunities that allow for the successful implementation of the strategies learned

Fundraise
The communities we serve do not have the financial means to support school PTAs. Together we can ensure ALL children have the same access to resources that will help them reach their goals.
We are always collecting:
-
Children Clothes (socks, uniforms, shoes)
-
Toiletries ( toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, etc...)
-
School Supplies (backpacks, composition books, pencils, erasers, crayons, etc.)
-
Snacks (cereal bars, granola bars, etc.)
-
Classroom Supplies (copy paper, dry-erase markers, poster markers, anchor chart paper)
We are better together!
